Digital transformation · Technology · Advisory
ARDI is a digital transformation and technology consultancy in Addis Ababa, helping governments, development organisations and businesses design, implement and scale solutions that strengthen institutions, improve services and enable better decisions.
What we do
We are structured around the sequence institutions actually follow — from framing the problem to sustaining the solution.
01
Strategy, operating models and enterprise architecture that make digital change durable inside institutions.
02
Platforms, interoperability and data governance that turn fragmented systems into shared, trusted infrastructure.
03
Evidence, analysis and costed roadmaps that give decision-makers a defensible basis for investment.
04
Hands-on technical assistance, delivery management and capability transfer that outlast the engagement.
Where we work
Our clients include governments, development organisations, NGOs, international development partners and private-sector organisations.
About ARDI
ARDI works at the intersection of technology, institutions and development. We combine engineering depth with public-sector fluency, so the systems we design can actually be procured, operated and sustained by the organisations that own them.
To help institutions in Ethiopia and the region use technology and evidence to deliver better services and make better decisions.
Digital public infrastructure and institutional capability that are locally owned, interoperable by default and durable beyond any single programme.
Why ARDI
01
We work in the operating reality of public institutions and development programs — mandates, procurement, budget cycles and accountability — not an abstract version of them.
02
We hold no product allegiances. Recommendations follow from the problem, the total cost of ownership and the capacity available to sustain the solution.
03
Ethiopian and regional grounding combined with international standards and practice in digital public infrastructure, architecture and data governance.
04
The same team that frames the strategy stays through implementation, so decisions survive contact with delivery.
05
We measure our work by the services improved, the decisions strengthened and the capability left behind — not by deliverables shipped.
Our work
A few representative assignments that show how we move from landscape analysis to national systems.
01 / 03
ARDI IT Solutions & Consultancy conducted a comprehensive digital landscape analysis of Ethiopia's Trachomatous Trichiasis (TT) ecosystem to support the Ministry of Health and its partners in accelerating disease elimination through digital transformation. The assignment involved mapping the existing digital ecosystem, assessing interoperability and data flows across national and partner-managed platforms, identifying systemic challenges and opportunities, and developing a strategic roadmap for an integrated digital architecture aligned with Ethiopia's National Digital Health Blueprint. ARDI also proposed an API-led interoperability strategy, integration with national platforms such as eCHIS and DHIS2, adoption of biometric-based unique patient identification, and a phased implementation roadmap incorporating emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to strengthen patient management, resource optimisation and evidence-based decision-making.
02 / 03
ARDI IT Solutions & Consultancy supports the Ministry of Health and JSI in modernising Ethiopia's health facility regulatory infrastructure, contributing strategic and technical expertise across digital health architecture, interoperability, system design and development, data management and implementation. The project involves modernising the Master Facility Registry (MFR) using a scalable microservices architecture, developing and integrating the e-Licensure platform, establishing real-time synchronisation between licensing and registry data, developing an offline-first service data collection application and regulatory dashboards, and integrating national services including Fayda, DHIS2 and digital payments. ARDI also supports human-centred design, technical validation, data quality and migration, testing, training and institutional handover to enable a sustainable national digital regulatory platform.
03 / 03
ARDI IT Solutions & Consultancy supports UNICEF Ethiopia and the Ethiopian Health Insurance Service (EHIS) in developing a costed national digitalisation roadmap for Community-Based Health Insurance (CBHI) and Social Health Insurance (SHI). ARDI contributes to the assessment of the existing digital health-insurance ecosystem, including systems, data, interoperability, digital architecture, institutional readiness and implementation requirements. The engagement also involves stakeholder consultations, technical analysis, assessment of architecture options, and development of practical recommendations to guide future digital investments. ARDI's contribution will help inform a phased, affordable and sustainable national digitalisation roadmap, including investment priorities, implementation sequencing, and the transition toward a more integrated digital health-insurance ecosystem.
